Night shift 4

Lori with Vladimir the Anesthesiologist. I think it's a loose term in Ukraine, though, because tonight he is the ICU doctor.

Vlad, hard at work writing orders for us.

Normal Ukrainian bedside set up.

Here's the call room where we get to take a nap during our shift.

How do I chart in Russian?!

Bedside rounds with whole staff.

Entrance to ICU.

Waking up the first case back this evening.
Lori from Nashville with Eva.

Yard behind hospital

Big Maksim, 13 years.

Eva, again.

Angelina in her favorite position, holding a bottle.

Every morning this lady comes to change dressings. I'm not sure of the significance of the hat, but I like it.

Little Maksim. Today is his first day of life.

I was teaching the Ukrainians the importance of swaddling.

We have a new Eva tonight. She's much calmer and quieter than the other Eva. Hmm. Our loud Eva should take notes.

Sunrise!

Good morning, Maksim. It's your second day in this world. Today Maksim goes to surgery.

Stella. 1st case, still intubated. Looks like she may have pneumonia. Sad face. She's stable and doing slightly better this morning.

Morning in the ICU. We have done 11 surgeries so far with 3 more today.

Timophey is not impressed with us, though.

Eva remains skeptical as well.
